Supported Platforms

This section describes the recommended system requirements for operating SuperCROSS, however you may use additional hardware. Generally greater hard disk capacity and random access memory (RAM) give better performance.

To install SuperCROSS you need local administration permissions. SuperCROSS enables user permissions for reading initialisation files, so you can run SuperCROSS without full local administration access.

.NET Framework

SuperCROSS requires the .NET Framework, and the installer will automatically attempt to install it if it is not already present on your system. This can take some time. It is not possible to display the installation progress of .NET from within the SuperCROSS installation process. Please be patient when the installer notifies that .NET is being installed, and wait for the installation to complete.

Visual Studio Redistributable (Required DLLs)

SuperCROSS requires a number of third-party DLLs (Dynamic Linked Libraries) in order to run. Several of these are packaged in the Microsoft Visual Studio redistributable. SuperCROSS attempts to install this automatically during its installation process.

In some cases, the installation of the redistributable may fail, or may subsequently have been removed from the system. This results in an error similar to the following when you attempt to start SuperCROSS:

The code execution cannot proceed because mfc140u.dll was not found. Reinstalling the program may fix this problem.

To resolve this issue, you should download and install the latest x64 version of the Visual Studio Redistributable directly from Microsoft.
