Display Metadata as Annotations Below the Table
By default, descriptive metadata is available by clicking the info icons.
This opens the descriptive metadata in a new browser tab or window.
If you prefer, you can activate an option that automatically shows the descriptive metadata as annotations at the bottom of the table. When this option is activated, SuperWEB2 will automatically check the metadata database for descriptions relating to the current dataset, as well as any fields and field items that appear in the table. The descriptions will be displayed at the bottom of the table when you retrieve data (and are also included in table downloads):
To enable this feature, you need to edit a setting in the configuration.properties file:
- Open <tomcat_home>\webapps\webapi\WEB-INF\classes\configuration.properties in a text editor.
Locate the following setting:
CODEtable.displayMetadataAsAnnotations=
Change the setting to
true
:CODEtable.displayMetadataAsAnnotations=true
- Restart Tomcat or the SuperWEB2 service.
This feature only applies when you are using the metadata server and an external metadata database.
